January 23, 2023 in Governing Board, News

As the new year is in full swing, Regional Medical Center (RMC) would like to thank outgoing Governing Board of Trustees, Jane Hanson and Ruth Hoekstra, for their dedication and volunteerism. Ruth began serving on the RMC Governing Board of Trustees in 2016, and Jane began her term in 2017. Both Jane and Ruth have been instrumental in helping further RMC’s mission and success in our communities.

In addition, RMC is pleased to introduce Jane Sherman and Kathy Swift as new members to the Governing Board of Trustees. Both Jane and Kathy were sworn in on Friday, November 18 for their term beginning January 1.

Jane graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1974 and a Master of Science in Nursing in 1995. Her clinical background includes home care, hospice and public health. Jane retired from her nursing career with RMC after 17 years in administration of home care, hospice, public health and the mental health center. Jane resides in Edgewood with her husband Neil, and will help represent the northern sections of our county.

Kathy has been a registered nurse for over 45 years. She graduated from Mount Mercy University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1977 and received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska in 1982. During Kathy’s nursing career she served in a variety of roles including Executive Director of the Visiting Nurse Association in Dubuque; tenured Assistant Professor at Mount Mercy University; and has worked in Nursing Administration, as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for Surgical Services and has served as an Academic Liaison for Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Kathy resides in Manchester with her husband Dan.

Join us in welcoming these valuable members of our community to the Governing Board of Trustees at Regional Medical Center.
