Ruth Hoekstra, RN

"I am interested in maintaining the quality of our caring and professional staff, the backbone of our institution. I look forward to providing a progressive and equitable working environment, with input and ideas from all staff."  -Ruth Hoekstra, RN

Ruth is a Registered Nurse, graduating from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in 1970. She worked at RMC for almost 42 years in several departments, with the last 25 years in the Surgery and Outpatient Department. She and her husband, Roger, a retired school teacher, have four grown children and 16 grandchildren.

Ruth would like to see RMC continue to be open to new opportunities, to continue to be an excellent provider of care, and to have a positive economic impact on the community. She feels the leadership at RMC has allowed it to remain viable in the ever-changing world of rural medicine. Ruth hopes to be able to give back to the hospital and community by serving as a Governing Board member.
