For several years, the Auxiliary has donated a special memento a red, fluffy, My first Christmas stocking to all infants born at Regional Medical Center (RMC) during the month of December. This year these holiday babies also received a handmade stocking donated by the William and Mary Ann Jaeger family.

In the Regional Medical Center (RMC) Obstetrics Department Dr. R. Ried Boom, MD, gets to have these moments regularly. However, on December 2nd at 6:18 PM Dr. Boom delivered Archer Matthew, son of Matt Drees and Anna Corkery of Manchester his 1000th delivery.

It's Not Too Late for that Flu Shot!

With influenza or the flu increasing in the state, now is a good reminder that its not too late to get your annual flu shot. Everyone is at risk for the flu but especially children, adults 65+, pregnant women, and individuals with chronic health conditions heart, lung, kidney, or weakened immune systems can become much more ill when they contract this disease. Influenza viruses are always changing, so annual vaccination is recommended.
Babies Born at RMC Receive PURPLE Caps for the Period of PURPLE Crying

During the month of November, babies born at Regional Medical Center (RMC) will receive a purple cap, knitted by the Auxiliary volunteers, to increase awareness of the Period of Purple Crying. From 2 weeks through 3-4 months of age babies go through the Period of Purple Crying and seem to resist soothing and at times nothing can help.
