The Regional Medical Center (RMC) Auxiliary awarded Lou Ann Knaak the 2018 Bright Star award for exceptional volunteer service. The award was presented to Lou Ann at the Spring Auxiliary Luncheon on April 25, 2018. Auxiliary President Connie Clifton recognized Lou Ann, saying, “We thank [Lou Ann] for being a Bright Star for the Auxiliary by gifting time and talent for the benefit of Regional Medical Center patients, families, services, and facilities.” Lou Ann has been an active volunteer, giving her time at the HILLTOP Gift Shop, serving on the Gift Shop Committee, serving as an officer and Auxiliary President, assisting with RMC blood drives, stuffing mailings, sorting ducks for the Rubber Duck Dash and Dive, and is currently a SafeSitter instructor. Lou Ann was awarded a certificate and the Bright Star Willow Tree.
New members and volunteers are needed to help grow the Auxiliary. We invite you to join us in our mission to promote wellness in the community, serve as a liaison between the hospital and the community, and conduct fundraising projects to assist the hospital in meeting its objectives. Anyone interested in joining the RMC Auxiliary or becoming a volunteer should contact one of the Auxiliary Executive Committee members or call Jody Hatfield, MPA, Volunteer/Support Manager, at 563-927-7581.
