Donations Fund Healthcare Scholarships

Since 1976, the Regional Medical Center (RMC) Auxiliary has awarded scholarships to students pursuing an education in healthcare. The Tree of Lights memorial fund was designated to establish and sustain the annual scholarships.  For the 38th year, the Tree of Lights shines in memory of loved ones for whom donations have been made, and with hope for the future of the student scholarship applicants.

Donations may be made in honor of special individuals or occasions, or in memory of loved ones.  Tree of Lights donation forms are available at the Auxiliary Gift Shop at Regional Medical Center. Contributions, accompanied by the name of the individual to be remembered, may be dropped off at the Gift Shop or mailed to the Tree of Lights, RMC Auxiliary, P.O. Box 359, Manchester, IA  52057.  A list of donors and the persons honored or memorialized will be displayed at the Auxiliary Gift Shop.

Area high school seniors and other individuals from RMC’s service area planning to pursue or continue their education at an Iowa college in a human medical field are encouraged to apply when the scholarships become available in mid-December. Applications for 2015-2016 will be made available at the guidance offices in area schools, Regional Family Health offices, RMC registration areas, the Auxiliary Gift Shop, and on our website. Watch for more information.

Founded in an effort to support those with the desire to dedicate themselves to a lifetime of caring for others, the scholarship has a long history with the most recent recipients having been 2014 graduates of the following area schools: Maquoketa Valley, Starmont, and West Delaware.
