As our communities have endured the challenges that came along with the COVID-19 pandemic, many families canceled their well-child visits with their primary care provider. Now is the time to reschedule those appointments.

“Well-child visits are very important to monitor your child’s overall wellness, including growth and development along with ensuring they are current with their vaccinations,” shared Michelle Paris, Regional Family Health Clinic Director. “Holding off on these appointments could make your child more vulnerable to other illnesses that are typically kept in check by vaccinations and preventive care.”

Screenings and evaluations completed by your primary care provider include growth and development, immunizations, lead poisoning, anemia, anxiety and depression, and risk behaviors. Your family practice provider is dedicated to ensuring your child’s overall health and wellness needs are being met.

Contact your healthcare provider today to see if your child should have a well-child visit scheduled. For more information or if you have questions, contact Regional Family Health at 563-927-7777 or regmedctr.org/rfh.
