Tyler Sullivan, an Iowa City resident and poet, started a quest back in 2015 to visit all 99 counties of Iowa. In 2018, he was challenged to set foot and run at least one mile in every Iowa town in an effort to find what he describes as “hidden gems” of each community.

“I started to find those hidden gems in every single town. Whether it’s a catchy slogan that every town sign has to offer, the town view, or those hidden freedom rocks,” expressed Tyler.

Currently, Tyler has run through 952 Iowan towns. He will be running in Regional Medical Center’s “Moving for Life'' event on Saturday, September 18, 2021 in Manchester, IA. Join Tyler as he makes his quest through Manchester. You can register at regmedctr.org/movingforlife or the morning of the event starting at 7AM at the Beckman Sports Complex.

You can follow his journey on his Facebook page, Iowa Scenic Views by Foot. He plans to release his first poem book this fall with a collection of poems written and inspired by each Iowa county.

NOTE: In light of COVID-19, we will have processes in place for the safety of all participants with hand sanitizers available. When people are gathering prior to and following the event, if they are unable to distance 6 feet from others, they will need to wear a face mask which we will have available. As we kick off the race, there will be garbage cans for people to drop their masks into.

All proceeds raised from this event will go towards the new Robotic Surgery System at Regional Medical Center. Cannot make it to the event? Donations are welcome to support this cause!Join us in thanking the following Fiscal Year 2022 sponsors of Regional Medical Center (levels Bronze and above) who helped to raise money for our new Robotic Surgery System, Endowment Fund, and this upcoming event.
