Bev Preussner, RN, MSN, Regional Medical Center Governing Board Chairperson, and Governing Board member since 2008, received recertification from the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA) Hospital Trustee Education Certification program on Friday, March 7th during the 2014 IHA Hospital Governance Forum in West Des Moines.

IHA launched its Hospital Trustee Education Certification Program in 2010. Through this certification program, IHA has provided a framework to support Iowa hospitals in developing highly effective board members.

Goals of this program include:

  • Helping hospitals use best governance practices.
  • Promoting coordination of care and the wise use of resources.
  • Demonstrating to community stakeholders that Iowa hospitals are dedicated to accountability and transparency.
  • Governing at the highest level of excellence.

Currently, 70 Iowa Hospital Trustees have successfully completed the requirements of the Trustee Education Certification, and 15 have completed recertification.

“On behalf of Regional Medical Center and our Governing Board of Trustees, please join me in congratulating Bev on her recertification,” stated Lon Butikofer, RN, PhD, CEO.
