Hospice and palliative care focus on providing patients with relief from symptoms, pain, physical stress, and mental stress of a serious illness. The goal of hospice and palliative care is to improve the quality of life for both the patient and their family. Hospice and palliative care certification validates the knowledge an individual has within the specialized area of hospice and palliative care.

“As the population ages, more and more people are in need of hospice and palliative care,” said Kristin Drabek, RMC Home Care and Hospice Director. “The demand for highly qualified, competent staff, like Amanda, is growing.  Our community is very fortunate to have someone as compassionate and knowledgeable as Amanda coordinating care for those in need of hospice services.”

“Over the years, I have learned so much about pain and symptom management, ethics of care, patient stressors, spirituality, and the importance of the entire care team working together to provide every patient with the best care possible.” said Amanda. “This certification has not only increased my personal growth and professional satisfaction, but most importantly, will have a positive impact on patient care and safety.”
