On Monday, April 4, 2022, a proclamation was signed by the Delaware County Supervisors to acknowledge April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Morgan Neuhaus, Regional Medical Center (RMC) Parents as Teachers Supervisor, presented the proclamation before the county on behalf of the Prevent Child Abuse (PCA) Iowa organization to support the goal of protecting and nurturing the next generation of children. “While PCA Iowa is a statewide organization, their most important relationships are at the county level. The RMC Parents as Teachers program provides resources to support families with the goal of safe and happy childhoods, healthy relationships and education,” shared Morgan.

Child Abuse Prevention month is a way to increase awareness of local prevention efforts and provide opportunities for community connection. With this proclamation, Delaware County demonstrates the value of prevention and prioritizes safe and happy childhoods.
