On Monday, October 24th, Regional Medical Center (RMC) will host a FREE training program for childcare providers on Standard Precautions/Bloodborne Pathogen Training from 7-8 PM. The program will be held in the RMC Veterans Education Center on Level 3.
Joan Wessels, RN, BSN, CDE, Quality Services Manager will review the required topic of standard safety precautions, including how to protect employees from pathogens that are transmitted through blood and body fluids. The program also discusses the pathogens of HIV and Hepatitis and how to decrease the transmissions of these in a childcare setting.
“Knowing the safe methods of care and precautions is very important,” shared Joan Wessels. “We hope we have a lot of childcare providers take advantage of this free training that will help them when caring for children in our communities.”
There is no cost to the training. Pre-registration is required. Please call Michelle Wulfekuhle, AS, Nursing Administrative Assistant at 563-927-7763.
