Ed-Co Continues to Support Local Breast Cancer Patients

Edgewood-Colesburg (Ed-Co) High School Volleyball has a long-standing tradition of supporting local breast cancer patients and survivors. For many years, Ed-Co has donated thousands of dollars towards Support Bags for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients at Regional Medical Center (RMC). These women receive care packages filled with thoughtful items that have been selected by the RMC Radiology staff. Some of the items include lotion, scarf, mug and coffees, playing cards, socks, a journal, and gas cards. Donations from Ed-Co also contribute to funding the RMC Women’s Night - a free event for women in our communities featuring spa services and inspirational speakers - held each year in May.

Funding for these generous donations stems primarily from Ed-Co Volleyball’s Annual Pink Nights, held each year in October. Last year’s Pink Night donation to RMC was $7,000. “We are continually grateful to the Ed-Co team for their efforts to support local breast cancer patients,” said Lynn MacTaggart, Radiology Manager at RMC. “The generosity of our communities never ceases to inspire!”

The 2019 Ed-Co Volleyball Pink Night will be held on Tuesday, October 15. The volleyball game against Starmont High School will begin at 5:15pm, but a silent auction and soup supper will be held before the game.
