On Thursday, June 24 at the annual Edgewood Pro Rodeo Days, Regional Medical Center (RMC) Radiology Department was presented with a $10,000 check from the Edgewood-Colesburg (Ed-Co) volleyball team. Through fundraisers, silent auctions, t-shirt sales and 50/50 raffles, this group has raised over $100,000 in support of local women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
“It is truly amazing to see the small towns of Edgewood and Colesburg and the surrounding communities support and donate so BIG to this cause. In my line of work, I see firsthand the women in our community who fight their biggest battle. These funds make it possible for our department to give each woman a pink support bag,” shared Jody Kerns, RMC Radiology Technologist and Edgewood resident.
These pink support bags are filled with comfort items (including gas cards, blankets, massage gift certificates, and more) for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. On behalf of Regional Medical Center and the Radiology Department, we thank the Ed-Co Volleyball team, the communities, and those who attended this year’s Edgewood Pro Rodeo Days. There are not enough words to describe how grateful we truly are.
