Understand Your Pain

We want to help you understand the difference between acute and chronic pain.

  • Acute pain is short-term, and normally attributed to a recent illness, injury, or surgery.  The level of pain intensity gradually improves with the healing process.
  • Chronic pain is described as prolonged pain that ranges from mild to severe and may be constant or recurring.

Communicate Your Pain

Our team of healthcare professionals takes your pain seriously. Your pain will be thoroughly assessed and promptly treated.

When you feel pain, will you be able to describe it? Is there a way to communicate exactly what you are feeling so they will understand?

The Pain Assessment Scale may be a useful tool in accurately communicating your pain.
