Parkinson's Therapy

RMC Therapy Services are certified in treating individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Our providers in Physical Therapy and Speech therapy are certified in two different types of treatments. 

Physical Therapy: LSVT BIG®

LSVT BIG® is a treatment that focuses on training people with Parkinson disease (PD) to use their body more normally. It’s an intensive, effective, one-on-one treatment created to help people with PD and other neurological conditions.

Our Therapists Address: 

  • Walking
  • Balance
  • Dressing 
  • Job-Related Tasks
  • Getting up from low surfaces
  • Any task that the patient has found difficult to perform and would like to improve

One Month Program

  • One-Hour Sessions
  • Four sessions per week
  • Four weeks in a row
  • Daily Homework & Carryover exercises
     

Speech Therapy: SPEAK OUT!®

SPEAK OUT!® is a program within the Parkinson Voice Project’s therapy program. This program runs a Parkinson’s specific clinic and trains speech-language pathologists around the globe. Our speech therapists are trained in their SPEAK OUT!® program which focuses on individual speech therapy sessions.

Program Details:

  • 45 Minute Sessions (12 Total)
  • Patient & speech therapist complete speech, voice, and cognitive exercises
  • Specialized workbook provided by the Parkinson Voice Project

  • Speaking more clearly
  • Speaking with increased volume
  • Speaking with increased confidence
  • Helps with cognition and memory
