Healthcare Facilities Continue to Require Face Masks

Healthcare Facilities Continue to Require Face Masks

March 1, 2022 in News, Regional Medical Center

Brought to you by Regional Medical Center

As a healthcare facility under the regulations of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Regional Medical Center (RMC), Regional Family Health (RFH), Regional Medical Home Care (RMHC), and Delaware County Public Health (DCPH) are mandated to require patients, visitors, volunteers and employees to wear face masks when in our facilities.

Yes, the CDC has relaxed the masking guidance for the general public. However, this relaxed masking guidance does not apply to healthcare facilities like RMC, RFH, RMHC, and DCPH that must adhere to CMS regulations.

As a health system, our duty is to safeguard the health and well-being of every patient who walks through our doors. Many who enter are immunocompromised and/or very sick and weak and are at a high risk of severe illness should they get COVID-19. This is why CMS requires mitigation measures such as universal masking for patients, visitors, volunteers, and employees when in our facilities.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation, patience, and kindness to our staff in following this CMS face mask regulation.
