Urgent Care Expands Hours

June 21, 2022 in Family Practice, News

Regional Family Health (RFH) Urgent Care in Manchester, Iowa, is expanding their hours! Effective on Monday, June 27, 2022, RFH Urgent Care will be open Monday through Friday from 12-7PM, Saturday and Sunday from 8AM-1PM, and closed on holidays.

What is Urgent Care and when should you use it? Urgent Care is a walk-in basis service for patients who need to be seen within 24 hours but are not experiencing a medical emergency. Urgent Care should not replace seeing your primary care provider for routine care.

What is considered an Urgent medical condition? Urgent conditions are ones that need to be seen but are not considered an emergency. Some examples include:

  • Minor accidents and falls
  • Cold or flu symptoms
  • Ear or eye infection
  • Skin rashes or infections
  • Sprains and strains
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • New muscle, joint or back pain
  • Minor cuts or wounds
  • Insect bites or rashes
  • Asthma attack (mild)
  • Allergies

Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Department is open 24/7 and available for patients needing emergent medical care. Seeking care at the Emergency Department when patients can safely be treated at Urgent Care can take valuable time and resources from patients experiencing a medical emergency. Neither service types are better than the other; each is designed to benefit the patient when in different circumstances.
