Get Your Updated COVID-19 Vaccine

October 9, 2023 in Family Practice, News, Public Health

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends everyone 6 months and older get an updated COVID-19 vaccine ahead of the fall/winter virus season. Like seasonal influenza or the flu, the virus that causes COVID-19 is always changing and protection from previous vaccine declines over time. This is why it’s important to receive the updated COVID-19 vaccine.

“While wellness practices such as hand washing, covering your coughs and sneezes and staying home when you are sick are essential to safeguard yourself and your family, vaccination remains the best protection against serious COVID-19 illness,” shared Krystle DeShaw, Delaware County Public Health Manager. “Getting the COVID-19 vaccine also reduces your chance of suffering from long-term effects of COVID.”

Reach out to your healthcare provider to see if they have COVID-19 vaccine available. Regional Family Health-Manchester has COVID-19 vaccine available for patients aged 12+.
