Flu Season is Here

November 9, 2023 in News, Public Health

Influenza or the “flu” season is here. When you get the flu, you experience primarily respiratory symptoms which can range from mild to severe. Symptoms usually come on suddenly and may include some or all of these symptoms:

  • Fever or feeling feverish or chills
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headaches
  • Tiredness
  • Some people may have vomiting or diarrhea (more common in children)

The flu is contagious. Reduce your risk from seasonal flu by getting your annual vaccine. Contact your primary care provider or check with a local pharmacy to get vaccinated. It is not too late.

Have questions about the annual influenza vaccine? Get answers from someone you trust–your healthcare provider. Because they know you and will always put your health first.

Help control the spread of germs by covering your coughs or sneezes, washing your hands frequently and staying home when you are sick.
