RMC Auxiliary Donates Reusable Pediatric Toys to Medical/Surgical Department
June 12, 2026 in Auxiliary, News
The Regional Medical Center (RMC) Auxiliary has generously funded a selection of pediatric entertainment items for the hospital’s Medical/Surgical Department. Specially selected to meet rigid infection control standards, these toys will provide much-needed comfort, normalcy, and distraction for pediatric patients during their hospital stay.
Being hospitalized can be an intimidating experience for a child. Providing age-appropriate toys helps alleviate anxiety, lowers stress levels, and fosters a more positive healing environment.
“A hospital stay can be very overwhelming for our youngest patients,” said Rhonda Hoefer, Med-Surg/ICU Manager. “Having these durable, cleanable toys on hand gives us the ability to quickly shift a child’s focus from a clinical procedure to familiar, comforting play. We are very grateful to the RMC Auxiliary for their continued support and dedication to enhancing the comfort and care of everyone in our community.”
The RMC Auxiliary is composed of dedicated volunteers whose fundraising efforts directly benefit patient care initiatives, advanced medical technology, and facility enhancements across the medical center.
