RMC Auxiliary Donates $7,021 for Radiology Equipment

Safety is at the forefront of all services provided at Regional Medical Center (RMC) in Manchester. MRI is used to provide detailed images inside the body so providers can examine organs, tissues and skeletal systems, helping to diagnose conditions and offer the best treatment possible.
A MRI is a noninvasive exam that uses a magnetic field and computer-generated radio waves to create these pictures. Due to the magnetic field, no metallic objects can go into the MRI area. In order to provide a safer environment for our patients with continuous monitoring, an MRI Safe Pulse Oximeter was purchased with donated funds from the RMC Auxiliary. This device is safe for the MRI area and allows staff to monitor patients’ oxygen and pulse rate while the MRI exam is in process.
“On behalf of our Radiology team, thank you to the Auxiliary for your dedication to our hospital with this very generous donation,” shared Megan Demmer, Radiology Manager. “Having this equipment allows our staff to better monitor patients who need an MRI and identify when they may be struggling during their exam, which ultimately leads to a better patient experience.”
The Auxiliary is actively seeking new members, volunteers and donations to help support their cause.
