Upcoming Retirement of RMC CEO Announced

Regional Medical Center (RMC) announces Danette Kramer will retire as Chief Executive Officer at the end of 2026, marking the conclusion of a landmark 30-year career with the organization. Kramer, will remain in her role through December 31, 2026, to ensure a smooth transition as the RMC Governing Board begins a formal search for her successor.  

Danette Kramer joined RMC in 1996, and quickly became a pivotal figure. After serving as Business Manager starting in 1999, she was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2000 – a position she held for 21 years. In that role, she navigated the company through multiple economic cycles, ensuring the financial resilience that allowed RMC to scale. Upon being named CEO in 2021, she has been crucial in contract negotiations, staff recruitment and retention, service development, facilities planning, regulatory compliance and strategic and financial analysis. She has been an effective, adaptive leader who is responsive to the healthcare needs of today and tomorrow’s generations.

“RMC has been the centerpiece to my professional life, and the decision to retire at the end of 2026 is bittersweet,” said Danette Kramer, RMC CEO. “From my years in the finance department to leading this incredible organization as CEO, I have been honored to witness our evolution firsthand. I look back with immense gratitude for the trust the Board and our employees have placed in me. I look forward to a productive final year and smooth transition for my successor.”

The RMC Governing Board of Trustees will begin the search to identify RMC’s next CEO in the upcoming weeks.
