- A good night’s sleep may be closer than you think…Regional Medical Center in Manchester, IA provides the equipment and instructions you need to complete a sleep study test in the comfort of your own home.
- Why a Home Sleep study?
- The Home Sleep study is used to diagnose obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) if you have a high probability of sleep apnea and no other medical issues. OSA occurs when the muscles in the throat relax and the airway collapses during sleep.
- What to Expect:
- Home Sleep Study occurs when you sleep at home wearing equipment (given to you by RMC staff) that collects and stores information about breathing during sleep. You’ll be given detailed instructions on how to use the Home Sleep Study device when you arrive at your appointment. A sleep technician will not attend the Home Sleep Study.
- After the Test:
- You will need to return any equipment back to Regional Medical Center Respiratory Care the day after your test so the device can be downloaded. Based on your study, a Sleep Physician will complete your report and send it to your referring provider to determine treatment options.
