Ed-Co Volleyball Leaves Lasting Impact on Local Breast Cancer Patients

July 16, 2025 in News, Radiology

he Edgewood-Colesburg (Ed-Co) volleyball team has left an immense impact on the lives of local breast cancer patients over the years. With their recent $15,000 donation, they have given a total of $107,790 towards supporting the Regional Medical Center (RMC) Radiology “pink support bag” fund.

Since 2016, the Ed-Co Volleyball team has organized fundraisers like their annual “pink night” volleyball game and dedicating a “tough enough to wear pink night” at the Annual Edgewood Rodeo. Through these events, funds are raised to support local patients battling breast cancer. Each year, part of their fundraising efforts are donated to RMC to help the Radiology Department with their “pink support bags”.

These bags are put together by the RMC Radiology team and filled full with comfort items and gift cards. They are then given to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients as a way to support them as they begin their cancer journey.

“We are beyond grateful for this team of young ladies and all the community members who support their fundraising efforts,” shared Megan Demmer, RMC Radiology Manager. “These donations allow us to continue providing support to local women fighting breast cancer. And for that, we couldn’t be more grateful.”
